Firstly, we would like to wish all our artists, collectors, friends and supporters not only a very happy 2012 but also a prosperous Chinese New Year of the Dragon. We hope the coming year brings you much joy and success!

Looking back, 2011 was a busy year for the team. We worked with nine spaces, a combination of our own galleries in Malaysia, Singapore, Yogyakarta and Manila as well as offsite venues such as The Annexe Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Black Box, Map @ Publika, Kuala Lumpur, Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, Bandung, and Galeri Soemardja, Bandung. In addition, VWFA KL celebrated its 15 year anniversary and collectively our team opened almost 60 group and solo shows in the region.

But it doesn’t stop there as 2012 promises to be even bigger and better for VWFA and our sister galleries Jogja Contemporary and Manila Contemporary. We have an exciting programme lined up and are proud to continue projects in our newest spaces, The Art Dept by VWFA at the Goods Dept in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta that opened in November 2011and Jogja Contemporary at Sangkring Art Space, Yogyakarta that opened in December 2011.
